In case that wasn’t enough pressure, research has found that statistically there are certain names that earn more money than others – so you also need to think long and hard about their financial future when picking out a name.
UK company Ask Traders analysed over 300 CEOs from some of the world’s largest companies, including Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Rolls Royce and Amazon, and compared the names with Adzuna’s salary data to find out which names earn the most money. They also took into account baby name trends for 2020.
When it comes to financial success, a few names came out on top.
Most successful girls names of 2020
Billie – AUD$77,000 (approximate average annual salary)
Eve – $75,000
Austin – $75,000
Ariana – $55,500
Ivy – $43,000
Most successful boys names of 2020
Logan – $85,500 (approximate average annual salary)
Eric – $84,000
Freddie – $83,000
Arthur – $76,500
Tommy – $66,500
Most successful gender neutral names of 2020
Jude – $75,000 (approximate average annual salary)
Max – $70,000
Ellis – $56,500
Rowan – $56,500
Evelyn – $56,000
Good to know: The above salary figures are based on UK salary figures. The UK’s average annual salary is around £29,000 (AUD$54,700) while the average wage in Australia in 2018 was just over $62,000 a year.
