Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown, 19, has announced that she is engaged to her boyfriend of nearly two years, Jake Bongiovi. Bongiovi, 20, is the son of legendary rocker, Jon Bon Jovi.
The couple have appeared extremely besotted with one another over their time together, often sharing sweet couple moments on social media for their fans.
Having dated since the summer of 2021, they’re now officially deciding to tie the knot, sharing the news of their engagement on Instagram.
Bobby Brown shared a beautiful photo of the couple smiling in white at a beach with her 63 million followers. Her gorgeous square-cut engagement ring could be seen in the photo with the caption, “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all.”
The line is a lyric from Taylor Swift’s song Lover, which features a series of wedding-related themes and motifs including the line, “I take this magnetic force of a man to be my lover.”
Jake Bongiovi also shared a carousel of two images with his 1.3 million followers, simply captioning it “Forever”.
One of the photos was taken in the same beach location as Millie’s photo, while the other was of the couple on a boat, looking like they’d already taken a dip.
It’s only fitting that the pair shared their news on Instagram, given that it’s how the two met. Their relationship then flourished off-line with red-carpet outings and romantic tributes chronicling their public partnership.
The engagement comes just over a month after Bobby Brown’s 19th birthday. Bongiovi posted a series of images of the couple’s gorgeous moments together in honour of his now fiancée.
“Another year around the sun together happy 19th to the girl of my dreams,” Bongiovi shared. “I love you more than words can describe. Everything about you is golden down to the core.”
So far, his rocker father hasn’t commented on his son’s impending nuptials, but we can only imagine that they are overjoyed for the young couple.
Millie Bobby Brown has spoken openly about her keenness to leave the Stranger Things franchise and even recently released a novel based loosely on her family’s wartime experience in the London borough of Bethnal Green.
“I’m able to create stories myself that are important to me and focus on the bigger picture,” she said in an interview with Seventeen. “But I’m really grateful [for the show].”
Now, we can finally see what the ‘bigger picture’ is, and we couldn’t be happier for the couple.
