Married At First Sight couple Melissa Rawson and Bryce Ruthven have welcomed twin boys ten weeks before their due date.
The couple announced they had welcomed the twins on Saturday, October 16th prematurely, but confirmed both babies were healthy and are currently remaining in the ICU.
In a statement to New Idea, Bryce said the boys are “doing really well and are getting the best care possible.”
“The boys are going to spend a few weeks in NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), they’re responding well to treatment and are squeezing our fingers which is the best feeling in the world.”
In the video, Melissa is seen in the hospital and tells the camera: “Today we were planning to start establishing the nursery but here we are. Big shock, very early.”
The couple previously announced they were expecting twins back in July. In the New Idea interview, they also confirmed they were engaged. Fans were undoubtedly thrilled, but shocked all the same given their season of MAFS had only finished airing three months prior.
“It’s been a whirlwind, but we’re so incredibly happy,” Melissa said at the time.
Bryce also added: “People saw on the show how supportive and loyal Mel was. I’m pleased to say that’s transitioned to the real world.”
“We’re not doing this for anybody else, it’s about us—we’re cementing our love,” Bryce said.
“Melissa deserves to be happy and I’m apparently very good at that, so I’m looking forward to making it all official.”
