Having just processed the news that Meghan Markle may be bringing back The Tig (find out everything you need to know about that news here) we did not think we’d get another glimpse of the influencer Duchess so soon.
However, it appears that the royal mum will be sharing her home baking technique publicly, contributing to a new cookbook featuring recipes from noteworthy people, including Michelle Obama. Consider us influenced!
Published by Penguin Random House, chef José Andrés will produce the cookbook. The Spanish chef is best known for founding World Central Kitchen (WCK), a non-profit that caters during natural disasters.
Harry and Meghan have been collaborating with the charity for a few years, working on ‘community centres’ through their Archewell Foundation.
“Announced late last year, the intent of these centres is to provide both relief and resilience—as well as healing and strength—for the communities in which they’re based,” WCK shared about the program.
“In times of crisis, they can be quickly activated as emergency response kitchens, and through calmer times they can serve as food distribution hubs, schools, clinics, or community gathering spaces for families.”
All proceeds from the upcoming cookbook, of which the name is yet to be announced, will go to helping World Central Kitchen with its emergency responses.
It appears that Meghan’s contribution to the book was a sweet recipe for a lemon olive oil cake. According to Town & Country, it’s a recipe she’s mastered, having chefed it up using lemons from her own garden for female restauranteurs in Chicago.
Apparently, former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, has contributed her go-to recipe for breakfast tacos.
Chef Andrés recently spoke about his affiliation with the royal couple, telling People: “I love them. I have been able to spend time with them, working with them and they are very hands-on and highly knowledgeable of what’s happening in the world, what the issues are, and what the needs are.”
So, will we see the lemon olive oil cake recipe uploaded to a new and improved The Tig eventually? Well, we’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, it’s a really great cause to support while getting your hands on this much-awaited recipe.
