Meghan Markle may be social distancing with Prince Harry and nearly one-year-old baby Archie in LA, but she’s not letting that stop her working hard with her patronages. This week, Smart Works – the Duchess of Sussex’s patronage, which works to provide underprivileged women with interview-appropriate clothing and otherwise prepare them for jobs – shared a new video of Meghan video chatting with a client.
In the clip, Meghan expresses her excitement for the client’s upcoming interview.
“I think you’re going to be fantastic,” the Duchess says, later adding, “I just wanted to be able to call in and tell you best of luck, and my fingers are crossed for you.”
Smart Works shared the video in a Twitter thread, and also included a quote from the Duchess. “It’s been such an honour to meet and learn from so many talented women in the Smart Works network over the years, and recently to see the amazing work they’re doing to adapt their programs to the reality of this pandemic,” it reads. “Their ability to continue to empower women and help them harness the confidence they need to succeed during this time is inspiring.”
Smart Works said that since pivoting to virtual services, they’ve provided “200 hours of support to our clients.”
Meghan has been Smart Works’ patron for over a year now, even releasing a capsule collection of workwear benefiting the charity.
