Serena Williams and Meghan Markle go way back. For the past nine years, they have been very close friends and have talked openly about how they have always supported each other. So, to see Meghan show up at Serena’s U.S. Open Women’s Final is not a big surprise.

Meghan hopped on a plane (don’t worry, she flew commercial) and made a whirlwind trip (she was there all of 48 hours) to New York to watch her dear friend and tennis royalty battle it out against Canada’s Bianca Andreescu.
The sentiment was super sweet and Meghan was spotted smiling and cheering for Serena throughout the entire match. Now that’s what friends are for.
But for all the Meghan Markle haters out there, that didn’t matter. They were quick to call her a “jinx” when Serena lost.
“Meghan Markle is BAD LUCK for Serena!! Meghan went to the last two Wimbledon finals and US Open Final today. Serena is 0 for 3!! In fact, she has not even won a set!! Memo from Serena to Meghan: Next time I am in a Major Final, STAY IN THE CASTLE!!,” said someone.
“Dear Meghan Markle please stop attending Serena’s finals matches. You are a jinx. Signed fans who are not her friends,” said another.
While the numbers may not be in Meghan’s favour, the idea that she is bad luck is absurd.
And thankfully, for all the haters there were plenty of supporters who rallied behind Meghan.
“I’m not #MeghanMarkle biggest fan… but come on… calling her a jinx is a little bit far… give her a day off ”
“They’re calling Meghan Markle Serena’s bad luck charm which is SO disrespectful. Y’all don’t have jobs??? Tf is wrong with y’all. Serena has worked too hard for this and leave Meghan out of it. Why do y’all wanna hate so bad??? They’re friends and she’s there for support just SHH”
Sometimes, even the greats like Serena Williams lose matches. And it has nothing to do with their BFF being in the crowd. Ok?
