The evening marks Meghan Markle’s long-awaited return to the UK after spending six weeks away from the media spotlight on Vancouver Island in Canada.
Reminding the nation that she still has firm ties in London, the mother-of-one dressed for the event in a teal-hued shift dress by the capital’s resident designer Victoria Beckham.
A Stella McCartney clutch bag (another Brit label, tick!) and navy Manolo Blahnik BB pumps completed the look.
It’s interesting to note that the 38-year-old eschewed her traditional regal waves in favour of a sleek ponytail and bold lip – a sign that we could well see the Duchess of Sussex embrace a braver post-royal wardrobe.
The ensemble is a far cry from what Meghan wore to last year’s ceremony, as the then-pregnant royal chose a crisp white shirt and thigh-split skirt by go-to label Givenchy.
The former Suits star reportedly arrived back in the UK on Thursday morning, as she prepares to join the rest of the Windsor clan at the Mountbatten Festival of Music on March 7.
She is also expected to make an appearance on International Women’s Day (March 8) although further details have yet to be released.
