While many might view Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s exit from the royal family as a disadvantage, it’s been proven that being a non-royal has its perks – at least for Meghan, that is.

The pair will participate in their final royal engagement at the end of this month, but the duchess won’t be enjoying much of a break before she’s thrust back out into the spotlight again. According to The Sun, Meghan will be attending fashion’s night of nights, the annual Met Gala, in May – marking one of her first major appearances after stepping down.
Unfortunately, Harry will miss out on attending the prestigious event, the outlet reporting that the former actress has been invited as a guest of Vogue UK editor, Edward Enniful, who she collaborated with on the “Forces of Change” issue in September 2019.
“Naturally Meghan was one of the first names on the guest list, and Edward’s team are excited that the two will go together,” a source told The Sun.
“Meghan is keen to step out occasionally without Harry so that she can establish herself once more in Hollywood.”

The question on everyone’s lips, of course, is what will Meghan choose for the momentous occasion? Will she stick to her modest, duchess ways, or take on a more playful spin with her newfound freedom? To complement this year’s theme: “About Time: Fashion and Duration,” the duchess has reportedly picked out a “glamorous androgynous” look – definitely not something we’ve seen her in much before.
Only last year, Anna Wintour revealed that the duchess and her sister-in-law Kate Middleton were at the top of her dream guest list for the May event during an appearance on the Today show.
“I would love to have the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge together,” Wintour said.
“That would be my dream couple. They could leave their husbands at home. It’s the two of them I want.”
