Matildas Pull Off An All Time Comeback Against Brazil At The Women’s World Cup

It isn’t over til it’s over

The Matildas have pulled off an extraordinary feat and beat the Brazil women’s soccer team 3-2. Leaving their opponents stunned, the Australian team came from a two-goal deficit to taking out the top victory.

Starting the game with high-energy, the Matildas took a turn for the worse midway through the first half, with things looking grim as Brazil took the lead. But from the jaws of defeat, Caitlin Foord and Chloe Logarzo brought Australia back from the brink before Brazilian an own goal gifted the Matildas a priceless win in the 66th minute.

Captain Sam Kerr couldn’t contain her excitement about the team’s first registering win of France 2019. “I’m so proud of the girls, I knew we were in at half-time,” Kerr said post-match. “There was a lot of critics talking about us but we’re back so suck on that one! It’s just outside noise, we don’t listen to the haters. Look at that comeback performance from the deep and I love these girls, they are something else.”

The Matildas will now go on to clash against Jamaica on June 19.
