In the most surprising turn of events, host Robert Moor wants Australian actress, Margot Robbie, to take on the lead role.

“My preferred casting – and this is a bit off the wall – would be Margot Robbie,” Moor told Andy Cohen in a recent interview. “I think Margot Robbie should play Joe in like a gender switch.”

Unsurprisingly, Cohen wasn’t entirely convinced, as he argued: “With all due respect to Joe Exotic… Margot Robbie ain’t ugly enough to play Joe.”

Though Robbie may have competition on her hands if she hopes to work his world-famous mullet, as Dax Shepard, Jared Leto and Edward Norton are all hoping to audition for the coveted role.

“She has these eyes that are just like Joe’s… I think she would do a great job with it,” Moor added, in further defence of the actress’ next Tinseltown move.

It was announced last November that American comedian Kate McKinnon is set to executive produce the project.

But before you suggest Robbie would be better suited to taking on the role of animal rights activist and Exotic’s greatest archenemy, Carole Baskin, McKinnon is already preparing to step into her leopard print shoes.
