Julia Wandelt, a 21-year-old woman from Poland, has gone viral for her claims of being Madeleine McCann, a British girl who went missing while on holiday in Portugal in 2007.
Now, the results of her DNA test supposedly confirming the validity of her claim have been revealed.
Wandelt first gained attention after she created an Instagram account with the handle @iammadeleinemccan and bio that reads: “help me, I need to talk with Kate and Gerry McCann.”
Wandelt has been using the account, which now has over 500,000 followers, to showcase her resemblance to the missing British girl and make contact with Madeleine’s family.
The 21-year-old claimed that she has a freckle on her leg and a speck in her eye in the exact same places as Madeleine, and also believes that she looks similar to Madeleine’s parents Kate and Gerry McCann. She also claimed to be the victim of a German paedophile, who she believes to look similar to one of the suspects listed on findmadeleine.com.
According to Wandelt, she has reached out to police multiple times but was told that they would not be investigating her claims further.
“I called my local police, Capital city police, the MET police, Portugal police and Crimestoppers. A few months ago I talked with Operation Grange, too,” Wandelt told The Tab.
Wandelt says that she has been attempting to make contact with the McCann family, who have previously stated that they’re willing to explore all leads in the search for Madeleine.
Following her claims, the McCann family reportedly agreed to a DNA test but did not release a formal statement.
What Are The Results Of Julia Wandelt’s DNA Test?
On April 5, 2023, Wandlet’s spokesperson and psychic medium, Dr. Fia Johansson, took to social media to reveal the results of the test.
“Julia’s test results are back. We finally know the reality,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
“The test results revealed that she is 100% of Polish heart, with negligible influence from Lithuania, and Russia,” she added.
“The DNA test results did not show any connection to British or even German roots.”
Sadly for Julia, this is definitive proof that she is not the British toddler that she believes to be.
What Happened To Madeleine McCann?
Madeleine McCann was a three-year-old British girl, who went missing on the evening of May 3rd, 2007.
The three-year-old was sleeping in a holiday apartment with her siblings in Praia da Luz, Portugal, while her parents dined at a nearby restaurant.
When Kate McCann went to check on the children later that evening, Madeleine was gone.
Madeleine’s disappearance sparked an international investigation and despite various leads and suspects, no trace of the missing girl was found.
In 2013, the British police opened a new investigation known as Operation Grange, which has gradually lost momentum with the team cut down from 29 detectives to just four.
The case remains unsolved to this day.
