“Turn up the music, turn down the lights, I got a feelin’ I’m gon’ be alright” because Lizzo has announced she’s coming ‘Down Under’ (to Australia and New Zealand) in in July 2023.

The Grammy Award winner will take her second album, Special, to Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland, beginning on July 14.

The album, which includes About Damn Time (among other bangers), saw Lizzo receive 4 nominations at this year’s Grammy Awards, and also take home the coveted Record Of The Year category.

This success follows that of her first album, CUZ I LOVE YOU, which included the single Truth Hurts, which made history as the longest running #1 song by a solo female rap artist ever.

In even more good (as hell) news, Australian singer-songwriter and rapper, Tkay Maidza has been announced as the support act for all shows in the upcoming tour.

News of the tour comes just a week after Lizzo was announced as the headlining act for this year’s Splendour In The Grass festival, which is set to take place between Friday 21st and Sunday 23rd July.

In 2022, Lizzo told The Daily Telegraph, “‘I really felt like I connected with Australia and had some really beautiful moments. So of course I want to come back like, why wouldn’t I? I love to tour, I love to travel and I love Australia.”

And if our excitement levels are anything to go by, the feelings about her upcoming visit are absolutely mutual.
