While we continue to eagerly wait for when production on our favourite TV shows to begin again, Lizzo is making sure that we stay excited for the future of entertainment.
According to Deadline, our August cover star has officially signed a first-look deal with Amazon to “develop and produce” her own TV show. There’s no word on what the project is set to be about, when it will air, or if it will star the musician herself—we can only hope.
Announcing it on Zoom, Lizzo revealed that she is “so excited to partner with the amazing team at Amazon.” She went onto thank the team for the opportunity, which she called a “dream come true. I can’t wait to get started and share my vision with the world.”
Echoing the musician’s excitement, the head of Amazon Studios, Jennifer Salke said: “Lizzo is one of the most exciting, creative, joyful artists in the industry, and it is such a pleasure to announce this new deal with her,” she said.
“I am beautiful, I am strong, I do my job, and I stay on my job,” she said in the clip. Her job now involves working with a major company, so it’s safe to say that we can expect amazing things.
