Lindsay Lohan has announced the birth of her first child, with husband Bader Shammas.
The couple, who are currently based in Dubai, are excited to announce that they welcomed a baby boy, although the exact time of his birth is yet to be revealed.
A representative for the couple confirmed the birth, adding, “The family are over the moon in love.”
Unlike many celebrities these days, the happy couple decided to share the name of their new addition, christening him ‘Luai’, the representative told Page Six.
Given the baby was born in Dubai, the name is extremely fitting. It’s actually an Arabic name that means ‘shield’ or ‘protector’.
There’s no doubt millennials everywhere, who grew up with Lohan starring in all their favourite shows from The Parent Trap to Mean Girls are over the moon for the Hollywood starlet’s growing family.
When Lohan, 37, announced her pregnancy in March the comments could not have been more positive towards the actress.
Mean Girls co-star Amanda Seyfried took to the comments to celebrate Lohan’s “wonderful news” at the announcement.
Lohan’s long-time close friend Paris Hilton shared, “Congratulations love! So happy for you. Welcome to the Mummy Club!”
Given that Hilton has just given birth to her first child as well, also a boy, named Phoenix Barron, we can’t wait to see the boy-mum play dates these two put together.
Before announcing her pregnancy, Lohan had been quite open about her ambitions to become a mother.
She told Interview magazine in November 2022, “I want to have kids.”
Lohan added that she felt Dubai would be a great place to raise them, given it is so removed from the busy Hollywood lifestyle in Los Angeles.
“It’s so safe there, and the schools are great. It’s so detached from everything that I’m used to. … It’s nice to have a separate world that’s my own.”
Lohan has been with Shammas since February 2020, with the two getting engaged in November 2021 and then secretly married in April 2022.
A huge congratulations is in order for the happy family.
