Move over Too Hot To Handle: you’ve officially been dethroned as the latest can’t-believe-this-is-a-thing reality show in town.
Enter: Labor Of Love, a new show where 15 men compete for the chance to—wait for it—impregnate a woman.
Yes, you read that correctly, and no, we’re not joking.
Hosted by Sex and the City’s Kristin Davis (yes, really), the show has, as you would expect, raised eyebrows all over the Internet since it dropped in late May.
Curious? We don’t blame you. Keep scrolling for everything you need to know about this mind boggling new series.
What Is Labor Of Love About?
The show follows 41-year-old Kristy Katzmann, a successful career woman and former Bachelor US contestant who is there to find the man who will be the father of her future children. (Per the show’s own tagline: “Love is optional, labour is not.”)
The series sees fifteen men—which the show dubs “the dad-chelors”—compete for the chance to become Katzmann’s ‘baby daddy’.
Along the way their ‘fatherly qualities’ are tested, with various ‘date’-type scenarios assessing their sperm counts, their drinking habits and potential parenting skills, among other things.
In episode one alone, the men are served up platters of specimen cups and asked to produce their, uh, ‘goods’ to be sent off for fertility testing.
“Part of this process is figuring out if you’re all fit enough to be fathers, I mean that in the most literal sense,” Davis tells them, before sending them off to provide their seed.
Arguably best summed up by one of its promo lines, it seeks to “skip the dating and go straight to baby-making”.

Who Are The Contestants On Labor Of Love?
The group of contestants reportedly took producers 18 months to pull together to due to the show’s intense requirements.
In what could be considered a twist for a dating reality show, the contestants are all over 40, and feature a variety of professional backgrounds, ranging from a doctor, to a pro-wrestler and a fireman, among others.
Where Can I Watch Labor Of Love In Australia?
Unfortunately (or fortunately?), Labor Of Love is currently not available to stream in Australia. However, as the show only just premiered in the US on May 21, it seems likely that it will hit our screens eventually.
In the meantime, the first episode appears to be sneakily available to check out on YouTube.
