The little girl was born via surrogate on Monday

Kanye and Kim Kardashian West welcomed their third child via surrogate on Monday.

Taking to her website, Kim confirmed the arrival of her second daughter, confirming she was born Monday, Jan. 15, at 12:47 a.m., weighing just over 3 kgs.

Both Kim and Kanye were in the hospital room when their surrogate gave birthTMZ reports.

While Kim was present the entire time, Kanye stayed behind a curtain – to give the surrogate privacy – until the child was born, sources with knowledge of the delivery revealed.

Kanye then emerged to hold the baby for the first time after Kim.

“Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl,” the 37-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star wrote in a post titled, “She’s Here!”

“We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care.”

The newest Kardashian takes the family of four to one of five as she joins older sister North, 4, and brother Saint, 2.
