Kim Kardashian is under fire for promoting Flat Tummy Co appetite suppressant lollipops on her Instagram, in a paid-for post that claims the products are “literally unreal.”
The Instagram post, pictured below, reads as follows: “#ad You guys… @flattummyco just dropped a new product. They’re Appetite Suppressent Lollipops and they’re literally unreal. They’re giving the first 500 people on their website 15 per cent OFF so if you want to get your hands on some… you need to do it quick! #suckit”
After intense backlash from followers who accused her of promoting disordered eating, Kardashian removed the post – although it’s since reappeared in her feed. Disturbingly, it’s attracted more than one million likes.
Now, The Good Place star Jameela Jamil has slammed Kardashian on Twitter, labelling her a “terrible and toxic influence on young girls.”
Jamil has spoken out about Instagram stars promoting weight-loss products before, telling The Cut, “If you call yourself an influencer on Instagram, you’re going straight to the Bad Place. How dare you. What are you even influencing? Drink this weight-loss tea. F*ck off.”
The Flat Tummy Co.’s social media advertisements have been banned in the UK, the BBC reports, and have not been evaluated by the FDA in America.
