According to TMZ, a moving truck was spotted outside the former couple’s Santa Barbara County property on July 28, 2023just three days before Baumgartner’s court-allocated move out deadline of July 31st.

The Daily Mail also reported that the moving truck and a number of additional moving vans, made multiple trips between the family home and another smaller property on a vacant lot down the street, which is reportedly also owned by Costner.

The former couple’s divorce began heating up when TMZ and The Post obtained documents that suggested Baumgartner, was refusing to leave the family abode despite an ironclad agreement signed when they were getting married that states she would need to leave within 30 days of filing for divorce.

She filed on May 1, 2023, which means she would have needed to vacate the premises by June 1, 2023.

It is understood that Costner has handed over the equivalent of $1.76 million Australian dollars ($1.2M USD), as per the prenup. In addition, the prenup states that Costner must contribute the equivalent of $44,000 Australian dollars ($30K USD) as a part of child support obligations and would advance $14,000 Australian dollars ($10K USD) for Baumgartner’s moving costs.

It is important to note that Costner’s net worth is expected to be around the $250 million dollar mark.

The Post reports that Costner’s prenup was so strict because the breakdown of his previous marriage had cost him dearly. While creating the prenup, “securing his right to access his separate property residences in the event of a divorce was an important priority” for Costner.

“Kevin was married once before and, upon separation, he found himself without a home base and unable to live in his own home,” The Post reports the filing read. “He never wanted that to happen again.”

Costner’s filming obligations were reportedly over at the start of June, and he had hoped to return to the residence when these commitments came to a close, but Baumgartner is still there.

For those who don’t already know the story, Kevin Costner’s wife, Christine Baumgartner, filed for divorce after nearly two decades of marriage.

A representative for the Yellowstone star, 68, confirmed the news in May 2023, saying:

“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action.”

It seems the wording of this statement was hinting at Costner’s feelings towards the divorce, with sources telling People the divorce “was not anything that he wanted or sought, and if he could change the situation, he would.”

Costner and Baumgartner, 49, have three children together: sons Cayden, 15, and Hayes, 14, plus daughter Grace, 12.

As part of her petition, Baumgartner has filed for joint custody of the children, Page Six reported.

Speculation has swirled as to why the pair have decided to call it quits, after Costner’s previous marriage to Cindy Silva reportedly ended due to infidelity. According to People, Costner cheated on Silva with a hula dancer named Michelle Amaral, on the Hawaiian set of his movie Waterworld. The couple were married for 16 years, before divorcing in 1994.

While he never confirmed the allegations, Costner has previously alluded to the pull of infidelity, saying

“The temptations are pretty strong and there’s a hungry world out there waiting for you to fall. So you can’t even dabble without paying a huge price. I try to conduct my life with a certain amount of dignity and discretion but marriage is a hard, hard gig.”

However, a rep for the actor said that the circumstances surrounding this divorce are not the same, telling Page Six that any allegations of cheating are “absolutely not true.”

Costner himself is yet to comment, and has just finished up in St George, Utah, filming the second of his multi-movie Western series, Horizon, an American Saga
