Speaking to The Telegraph, Knightley shared that she and her husband James Righton have named their new arrival Delilah.
The couple followed a similar protocol following the birth of their eldest daughter, Edie, whose name was kept private until three-months after her birth.
During the interview, the Oscar-nominated actress then went on to speak candidly about some of the challenges of motherhood, including fitting in feedings between other commitments, and getting the timing of her breast milk pumping schedule right.
“We’re going to be apart for six hours in total, so I pumped three feeds’ worth,” she explained during the interview.
“If I don’t do it my boobs will explode. I mean, quite literally, it’s going everywhere. So, you know, that’s not happening. The pump is with me. It’s fine.”
This isn’t the first time Knightly has been vocal on the challenges that come with being a mother. Earlier this year, she told Balance magazine: “I don’t think we give women enough credit for the physical and emotional marathon they go through when becoming a mother. I come from a place of amazing privilege. I have an incredible support system; I’ve been unbelievably lucky in my career; I can afford good childcare, and yet I still find it really f— difficult.”
