Kate Middleton, never one to shy away from a royal rewear, has worn one of her favourite pieces to make a special appearance by way of Instagram to celebrate Burns Night, Scotland’s celebration of the poet, Robert Burns.

In a video message, the royal, alongside husband Prince William, told staffers at NHS charities that they would be treated to a special lunch of “haggis, neeps, and tatties.”

“Hello to everyone at NHS Tayside. We know Burns Night is a special evening for Scots around the world, a time to come together to eat, drink, and to celebrate the life and work of Robert Burns,” the Duke of Cambridge said.

“Sadly this year is a little different,” Kate added. “And for many of you working on the frontline, tonight will be a very different occasion, as you work tirelessly through this pandemic to protect the most vulnerable in our society.”

The duchess looked chic in an Emilia Wickstead red tartan dress, no doubt a nod to the Scottish celebration, which she previously wore to a Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace in 2019.

She accessorised with a pair of Simone Rocha pearls, which the royal has been spotted wearing a lot lately. The stunning pair are believed to have been a recent Christmas present, according to marie claire U.K.

While many traditional royal watchers would argue that tartan is a style to be worn only in December, Kate regularly incorporates tartan into her wardrobe when visiting or paying homage to Scotland.

In December 2020, the royal sported a tartan scarf on the couple’s first stop of their train tour of the U.K. to Edinburgh, Scotland.
