We know an awful lot about the Duchess of Cambridge – what brands she wears, what skincare she uses, even how she hides her early pregnancies. We know she was an accessories buyer at Jigsaw before becoming a full-time princess, and we know what school her son, Prince George, goes to. But somehow, one of the most interesting things about her has escaped public notice – until now.
It turns out the Duchess spent a gap year in Chile after finishing high school. She nabbed a place on a program with sustainable development charity Raleigh International, after which she studied at the British Institute in Florence and also crewed on a Round The World Challenge boat in the Solent. Harper’s Bazaar UK uncovered the trivia tidbit on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s website (yes, they have a website), which lists a full bio on the relatively new royal.
So there you have it: the Duchess is way more well-travelled than we gave her credit for, and adventurous to boot.
