We’re sorry to tell you, but yet another extremely eligible bachelor is no more. James Middleton, the (very good looking, dog-loving, country living) younger brother of the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, announced his engagement to his French girlfriend Alizee Thevenet over the weekend, sharing a sweet selfie from the Lake District which shows off Alizee’s stunning engagement ring.
The 32-year-old wrote, “She said OUI ❤️ Our secret is out but we couldn’t be happier to share the news 🥂🍾.” He jokingly added the hashtag #jalizee” at the end, combining their names to make a couple’s name.

Just like her new sister-in-law, Kate, Alizee’s ring looks to be a stunning blue sapphire, which is sitting on a thin silver band.
On Instagram stories, James also posted a video montage of pictures of him and his wife-to-be to the song ‘Sexy Weekend’ by Scoundrels. The first clip shows the couple kissing underwater before it goes on to flick through never-before-seen photos of the pair travelling all over the world.
According to The Sun, James and Alizee met at the exclusive South Kensington Club when she stopped to pat one of his dogs, a Cocker Spaniel named Ella, last year. They then met for a drink a few weeks later. During Wimbledon, the couple took their relationship public when they attended a match with the Middleton family.
After making his Instagram account public last year, James penned an op-ed for the Daily Mail about living with depression. In it he wrote, “Depression is only a small part of the complex jigsaw that is me. Since childhood, I’ve known I was severely dyslexic—both letters and numbers still jump and blur on the page in front of me and some days I have difficulty spelling even the simplest words. But it was only when, a year ago, I was also diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) that all the quirks and foibles of my character started to make sense.”
