For any mother who’s breastfed, you know it can seriously overtake your schedule. That means, nursing your new bub when it needs (and wants) takes priority over everything else…including working out.
Kate Hudson gets it. Her friend Erin Foster shared a few Instagram stories from an at-home barre workout with Kate. At one point, Kate needed to nurse her newborn daughter Rani. “And, we’re pausing for a breastfeed,” Erin says, as the camera pans over to a smiling Kate. But, what’s incredible is that instead of stopping her workout to finish things up, Kate went back into the workout while breastfeeding.
“Motherhood doesn’t slow us down,” Erin wrote over another video of Kate doing leg lifts, lunges, and more while nursing.

Earlier this month, Kate shared that she had planned to raise her daughter with a ‘genderless approach.’ The 39-year-old actress revealed in an interview with AOL that she has embraced the approach with three-month-old Rani, as well as her two sons from previous relationships: Bingham Hawn, 7, and Ryder Russell, 15.
“[Having a daughter] doesn’t really change my approach, but there’s definitely a difference,” she told the outlet. “I think you just raise your kids individually regardless, like a genderless [approach]. We still don’t know what she’s going to identify as.”
“I will say that, right now, she is incredibly feminine in her energy, her sounds and her way,” Hudson explained. “It’s very different from the boys, and it’s really fun to actually want to buy kids’ clothes.”
“With the boys, it was just onesies…actually, I did pretty good with the boys,” she said. “But with her, it’s a whole other ball game. There’s some stuff that I’m like, ‘I can’t do that to her, because it’s so over-the-top’.”

Later, Hudson took to Instagram to clarify her comments. “Recently someone asked me something along the lines of, if having and raising a girl is different from boys,” she began. “My response was simple. Not really. The whole click bait tactic of saying I’m raising my daughter to be ‘genderless’ is silly and frankly doesn’t even make sense.”
“Me saying a ‘genderless approach’ was a way of refocusing the conversation in a direction that could exist outside of the female stereotype. It just felt a little antiquated to me.”
“Not all girls want to be a princess, some want to be king and that’s fine with me,” she added.
