Kate Bosworth and Justin Long looked adorably in love on the 2023 Oscars red carpet, and fans couldn’t help but notice the giant ring on Bosworth’s wedding finger.
While there was no official confirmation at the time, the pair have finally made the news public, both sharing Instagram carousels with gorgeous photos of the two laughing, playing and sharing a cheeky smooch.
“She said YES… to being a guest on @lifeisshortpodcast! And to other slightly more life-changing questions ;)” Long shared on social media alongside the photos of himself with Bosworth, wearing her ring.
“I feel eternally grateful that I found a partner who makes each day so full, whose mere presence is a reminder of the beauty and brevity of life, and who makes me laugh from the minute we wake up til the one I begrudgingly fall asleep. I cherish the days we’ve had and the ones to come.”
Yes, all our hearts are melting.
Bosworth also posted about the union, admitting that sometimes it’s hard to know how to announce this kind of exciting news.
“How to do this right? He’s going the distance? I’ve got a Blue Crush? He’s just THAT into me? I’ve won a date with…??? Ok you get it!” she wrote, referencing a series of movie titles the pair have starred in.
“If life is short, find the one who brings you endless peace and radical wonder. Justin Long, I am so grateful it’s you.”
If you’re wondering how this iconic pairing came to be, the couple actually met while working on House Of Darkness together in 2021, and in May of that year Bosworth posted “Holy moly, Justin Long, you are a truly spectacular,” off the back of their time on set.
It seems the relationship blossomed from there, first as a friendship (as Bosworth divorced her ex-husband Michael Polish in August 2021), and then later as lovers.
In January 2022, Long shared he was in a relationship but did not reveal with whom, and then later that month he attended the Sundance Film Festival premiere for Bosworth’s movie Bring on the Dancing Horses together, singing Bosworth’s praises.
In April 2022, the pair attended a wedding together, sharing snaps on social of their escapades together as guests. Fast forward to the Oscars, on the 13th March 2023 and Bosworth could be seen with a giant square-cut diamond as her bling-of-choice, placed on her wedding finger.
Bosworth and Long got together for his podcast Life Is Short to talk about their engagement story, which was a bit of a comedy of errors.
Apparently, Long had been prepared to propose around Kate’s birthday on January 2, however the cat ended up getting out of the bag during a joint therapy session.
“It was a moment where it just felt so organic, and it felt connected to something very, very deeply, profoundly personal that we were going through ― a real life change,” Long explained of the moment that brought them to therapy.
“I remember waking up not so many mornings after that therapy session, and I looked at Justin,” Bosworth explained. “I smiled at you, and I said, ‘What do you need?’ And he really looked at me, and he said, ‘To spend my life with you.’”
