Almost a month after pledging their love in a ‘commitment ceremony’ in Palm Beach, Today host Karl Stefanovic and his fiancée Jasmine Yarbrough have appeared in public together, to attend the launch of Witchery’s annual White Shirt Campaign to raise funds and awareness for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.
News.com.au reports that it was Yarbrough who got the high-profile TV host involved with the campaign. “Women in my life are so important, and they are a rock for me so anything I can give back to them in terms of my profile and using whatever profile I have … and if charities will have me then I’m in,” he said.
Recent media scrutiny has forced the host to reassess his priorities, he said. “The last couple of months I’ve been able to reflect on the really important things in my life, and they are women,” he told news.com.au. “For me, it’s important because I don’t want women around me to get this [ovarian cancer] and if they do, I want it to be diagnosed early.”
“Nothing sharpens you more than a disease that can take your life,” he added.
Stefanovic and Yarbrough’s commitment ceremony took place in a a private home in Palm Beach on March 10, 2018. According to The Sunday Telegraph, the intimate ceremony only included immediate family and the closest friends of the 43-year-old Stefanovic and Yarbrough, 32.
Karl’s youngest children, Ava, 13, and River, 11, attended the ceremony, however, The Sydney Morning Herald reports the Channel 9 journalist’s eldest son Jackson, 18, was not present.
