Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux announced the end of their marriage almost a year and a half ago, but over the weekend the famous former couple put on a united front to bid farewell to their beloved dog, Dolly (named after singer Dolly Parton).
On Sunday night, Justin took to Instagram to share a touching tribute to the pair’s White Shepard rescue dog, writing, “Tonight, at sunset, after a heroic struggle … our most loyal family member and protector, Dolly A. laid down her sword and shield. 
She was surrounded by her entire family. ‘The one that never deserts, the one that never proves ungrateful… is the dog— faithful and true, even in death.’ – George Vest. Rest In Peace Dolly #adoptdontshop #rescuedog.”
The gallery showed Justin and Jen holding hands across their White Shepard, who was wrapped in a blanket and covered in flowers. In one of the images, Justin is burning sage over Dolly. One of the former couple’s other dogs, a terrier named Clyde, was also partially visible in the photos.
“We love you dolly 💔💔,” Courteney Cox wrote underneath the gallery, while Orlando Bloom commented, “Rip beauty.”
Justin and Jen shared three dogs together – Dolly, Clyde and Sophie, a pit bull mix.
