Round one and it’s Scarlett Johansson vs. Zelda Fitzgerald!
The two Hollywood A-listers will be fighting it out in separate biopics, both playing Zelda Fitzgerald, the wife of author F.Scott Fitzgerald, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Jazz Age iconic, dubbed as the first American flapper, was a successful author in her own right, before she tragically died in a hospital fire nearly 70 years ago.
Both films will follow Zelda’s life, focusing on her career and struggle with schizophrenia.
Jennifer’s biopic boasts Ron Howard who is looking to direct the film, titled Zelda. Scarlett’s project, titled the Beautiful and the Damned, will be a play on the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic of the same name, which was loosely based on his marriage.
The story of Zelda is obviously hot property in Hollywood right now, with Amazon releasing it’s own series, Z: The Beginning of Everything, starring Christina Ricci.
Release dates for the films are yet to be released.
