This wild, yet compelling theory was first sparked when Twitter user Stephen Ossola tweeted a photograph of The Standard Hotel in New York, where the infamous elevator fight between Jay-Z And Solange went down.

As Slate reports, footage was leaked in 2014 of Solange attacking her brother-in-law after the Met Ball, rumoured to be in connection with cheating allegations.

“I’m at The Standard where Solange beat Jay-Z’s a** in the elevator,” user @StephenOssola tweeted. “THE ADDRESS IS 444. I AM SHOOK.”

Could the rapper’s latest release to be a nod to that iconic elevator fight? As ET reports, The Standard is actually located at 848 Washington St, although 444 W 13th Street is the address for Le Bain, on the hotel’s top floor.

“I woke up, literally, at 4:44 in the morning, 4:44 a.m., to write this song.”

He added: “So it became the title of the album and everything. It’s the title track because it’s such a powerful song, and I just believe one of the best songs I’ve ever written.”

Say what you will about the album title, 4:44 has been a critical and commercial hit.
