The day was a long time coming for the couple, who’d been forced to postpone the nuptials twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But as Saturday, September 11 rolled around it was finally time for the pair to say ‘I do’ in Alizée’s home country.

Sharing a small, albeit glorious glimpse from the occasion, James shared an update to fans on Instagram announcing he and Alizée had finally tied the knot.

“Mr & Mrs Middleton ❤️ 🇬🇧 🇫🇷,” he shared.

“Yesterday I married the love of my life surrounded by family, friends and of course a few dogs in the beautiful village or Bormes-les-Mimosas. Words cannot describe how happy I am.”

Present at the wedding were some special guests including Kate Middleton and Prince William, who flew in from London with their three children to attend the nuptials.

Also joining the couple on their special day were the Duchess’ parents Carole and Michael Middleton, as well as sister Pippa Middleton and her husband James Matthews.

Of course, we can’t forget two extra important guests. Known for his love for dogs (in actual fact, they’re how James and Alizée met), his two furry companions Luna and Mabel came along for the festivities.

James and Alizée met in 2018 at the South Kensington Club in Chelsea. Funnily enough, it was James’ therapy dog Ella who made the encounter happen as he made a beeline straight for Alizée.

James shared their meet cute with The Telegraph: “Rather embarrassed, I went over to apologize and bring Ella back,” he explained.

“Little did I know, but I had just met my future wife, all thanks to Ella.”

Less than a year later they were engaged—James shared the happy news to Instagram at the time simply writing, “She said oui”.

They now reside in the countryside in the UK. After celebrating their long awaited nuptials, we’ve no doubt they’re looking forward to beginning the next chapter there together.
