Fans globally were left quite confused when the news that Alec and Hilaria Baldwin had welcomed their sixth child, Lucia, just five months after their son Eduardo was born.
But the mystery seems to have solved itself fairly quickly, with Page Six saying a source confirmed that newborn Lucia was born via surrogate. Speculation around Hilaria and Alec choosing to use a surrogate was rife after fans noticed Hilaria following a surrogate account on Instagram.
“We are so in love with our daughter, Lucia,” Hilaria wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of her newborn. “Just like your brothers and sisters, you are a dream come true.”
To be fair, the couple have never actually confirmed that Lucia was welcomed via surrogate, with Alec responding to a person on Instagram who questioned the close birth dates between the two children with “You should shut the f**k up and mind your own business.” A fair statement given it’s no one’s business but theirs.
Their rep also responded to Page Six, saying “We’re still not issuing a statement or confirming anything – what she posted stands.”
The couple now have six children – Carmen, 7, Rafael, 5, Leonardo, 4, Romeo, 2, Eduardo, five months, and newborn Lucia. Alec is also father to 25-year-old daughter Ireland Baldwin with his ex-wife Kim Basinger.
Most recently, Hilaria shared this sweet snap of daughter Carmen with Lucia.
