Today’s the day!! Gilmore Girls is FINALLY returning in four revival episodes after a long wait, and you can watch it from 7pm AEST. But if you haven’t been binge watching seven seasons worth of TV over the past few months, then you might be struggling to remember what exactly happened in those last few episodes.
Luckily, we’ve got a quick summary to remind you what went down…
1. Lorelai
Luke and Lorelai broke up after she revealed that she had slept with Christopher. She reconnects with Christopher and they start a committed relationship and things seem to be going well. They end up flying to Paris together, then eloping. Lorelai informs Rory and Luke of the marriage, and neither are particularly happy about it.
Luke asks Lorelai to write him a character reference in a custody battle for his daughter April. Later, Christopher reads her statement and realises she stills loves Luke, and they end up breaking up. She tells him, “You’ve always been this possibility for me…this wonderful possibility, but it’s just not right.”
Luke decides to throw a graduation party for Rory and after finding out it is supposed to rain that day, Luke stays up all night sewing together a tarp to cover the whole town. Lorelai and Luke reunite and it’s assumed that they are back together.
2. Rory
As her graduation from Yale approaches, Rory applies to a bunch of grad programs. While she is offered a good one, Logan encourages her to wait until she hears back from the one she really wants – the New York Times – and she doesn’t get it.
Her spirits are low, but nevertheless, her grandparents throw her a graduation party to celebrate. Logan proposes to her halfway through the party in front of everyone, and she is so surprised that she pulls him aside to talk. She says she needs to think about it, and eventually tells him that she’s not ready to get married. Logan gives her an ultimatum that it has to be ‘all or nothing’, and gives him back the ring.
Rory gets the opportunity to go on the campaign trail with Barack Obama and the last we hear from her she’s leaving for the job.
3. Richard and Emily
Richard has a second heart attack and is in the hospital for a while, but he ends up being ok. Richard and Emily finally get their proud grandparent moment when Rory graduates, and they are thrilled for her to start her job.
4. Lane
Lane gets pregnant on her honeymoon with Zack, and they both freak out. It turns out she is pregnant with twin boys, and she names them Steve and Kwan.
Paris
Paris graduates from Yale and heads on to medical school to follow her dream of being a doctor. Rory and Paris leave on good terms with Paris telling Rory that she’s going to do amazing things with her life, and Rory saying that she thinks they’ll always be friends.
Sookie
Sookie and Jackson are enjoying married life with two kids and have another child on the way at the end of Season 7.
As for Dean and Jess, we haven’t heard from them in a while so it will be interesting to see what they’re up to!
Bring on the Gilmore Girls marathon!
