“My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions,” Chapman said in a statement to People. “I have chosen to leave my husband.”
“Caring for my children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time.”
Chapman, 41, and Weinstein, 65, married in December 2007 and have two children, India Pearl, who is seven years old, and Dashiell Max Robert, four.
The fashion designer was a judge on five seasons of Project Runway: All Stars, a Project Runway spinoff of which Weinstein was an executive producer, Deadline reports.
The embattled movie mogul was fired by his own company this week, with The Weinstein Company releasing this statement: “In light of new information about misconduct by Harvey Weinstein that has emerged in the past few days, the directors of The Weinstein Company – Robert Weinstein, Lance Maerov, Richard Koenigsberg and Tarak Ben Ammar – have determined, and have informed Harvey Weinstein, that his employment with The Weinstein Company is terminated, effective immediately.”
