In what has been referred to as a landmark #MeToo case, disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein has been sentenced to 23 years in prison after a jury convicted him last month of third-degree rape and a count of criminal sexual act in the first degree.

The sentence was handed down in a New York courtroom, two years after dozens of women bravely came forward with accusations of sexual assault and rape against the former film producer (six women eventually went on to testify against him during the trial). And despite the time lapse, high-profile female celebrities continue to be drawn into the case. The latest? Jennifer Aniston.

Just days before his sentencing, The New York Times reported that court documents had resurfaced revealing desperate messages from the disgraced producer to save face after multiple women accused him of sexual misconduct. The correspondences included pleas to Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Apple’s Tim Cook, and New York City mayor-turned-Democratic presidential nominee Michael Bloomberg.

One email, which was part of roughly 1,000 pages of documents, was directed to Weinstein’s former rep, Sallie Hofmeister, after she asked him to respond to a reporter who had sought comment about an untrue allegation that Weinstein had groped Aniston.

Weinstein’s response; “Jen Aniston should be killed.”

Following the uncovering of the email, Aniston’s publicist, Stephen Huvane, responded to the news, denying that Weinstein ever touched the actress inappropriately, nor did they have any knowledge of or comment to make about the email.

“He never got close enough to her to touch her,” Huvane told the Times. “She has never been alone with him. We have no idea about the email, since it wasn’t sent to us, nor do we have any comment to make on it.”
