Fans of The Handmaid’s Tale, the wait is almost over. Offred, Emily, Aunt Lydia, and all of your other Gilead favourites/favourites to hate will be returning to the screen in less than a month (mark April 26 in your diary).
In the meantime, a new full-length trailer for the hit show has dropped and it looks even more intense than we could have ever imagined.
The season two preview shows Offred (the incredible Elisabeth Moss) pregnant and fleeing from the oppressive control of Commander Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) and Serena Waterford (Yvonne Strahovski).
“Is this what freedom looks like?” she questions in the back of a van headed to who knows where. “What will happen when I get out? There probably is no out. Gilead is within you.”
The trailer teases terrifying footage of the colonies and a harrowing shot of red-cloaked Handmaids on the gallows.
Moss has revealed season two will be even more intense—and amazing—than the first. “There is literally no way that anyone can guess what happens,” she told EW.
“You can try, but you won’t do it… We have no intention of doing anything else than being even more balls to the wall than we were in season one.”
Watch the trailer below. Praise be!
The Handmaid’s Tale 2 airs on SBS and SBS On Demand 8.30pm, from Thursday April 26
