A Historic Win For Female Directors! Here, The Full List Of 2021 Golden Globes Winners

Oscars, here they come 🏆

The Golden Globe winners are always our first glimpse at who we can expect to win big at the Oscars in February and this year, there were some incredible wins. The 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards were the HFPA’s first-ever virtual show, hosted by our favourite duo, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. The pair emceed the night together in different cities, with Fey live from the Rockefeller Centre’s Rainbow Room in New York City, while Poehler hosted from the Globes’ usual location inside the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California.

Notably, Emma Corrin took home the Best Actress award for her role as Princess Diana in Netflix’s The Crown, as did Rosamund Pike for her comedic—yet, slightly disturbing—role in I Care A LotSchitt’s Creek continued its award show reign, being named best TV comedy and earned Catherine O’Hara, AKA Moira Rose, a win.

It was also a historic night for women, with Chloé Zhao becoming the second woman and first woman of colour to win Best Director for her work on Nomadland. Other standouts include Andra Day’s win for her role in The United States vs. Billie Holiday and Chadwick Boseman’s win for his role in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, six months following his death.
