A woman has been found dead in a Sydney home reportedly owned by Australia model Gemma Ward.
According to The Daily Telegraph, a woman in her 50s was found dead this morning in an Avalon home that she was renting with her son. Authorities attended the property after reports the woman had sustained injuries.
Police then arrested a man in his 20s nearby, who is now assisting with enquiries.
Ward told the Daily Telegraph that her “heart goes out to the family and all involved in this tragedy.”
“It’s heartbreaking news,” she added.
A police statement explained that a report is being prepared for the coroner.
“The circumstances surrounding [the woman’s] death are being investigated and a brief will be prepared for the information of the Coroner,” the statement said.
“Initial inquiries suggest the pair are known to each other.”
The house was reportedly purchased for $1.6 million last year by Ward and her husband, David Letts. The pair were renting out the property while they were staying in Newport with Letts’ parents.
