Warning: Spoilers for Game of Thrones season seven, episode one ahead
With the highly anticipated premiere of Game of Thrones season seven released yesterday, it seems the entire world could talk of nothing but the happenings (read: mass killings and celeb cameos) in Westeros.
However, with all fuss over Arya’s badass first scene, Ed Sheeran’s random cameo, and the new hipster topknot hairstyle, most people missed a very unnerving clue.
Following Sansa Stark and Jon Snow’s public disagreement, Sansa pulls her brother aside to implore him to listen to her.
It’s then that we noticed the statement the young Stark sister was making: Sansa was wearing her hair in the exact way the evil Cersei Lannister used to.
This could be a coincidence, sure, if it wasn’t for the conversation that followed.
Jon receives a threat from Cersei, and Sansa quickly warns him to be careful: “You’re the military man, but I know her. If you’re her enemy, she’ll never stop until she’s destroyed you,” she says during the scene.
“Everyone who’s ever crossed her she’s found a way to murder.”
“You almost sound as if you admire her,” replies Jon. To which Sansa says, “I learned a great deal from her.”
If that wasn’t already enough for you, actress Sophie Turner (who plays Sansa on the show) previously revealed in an interview with Refinery 29 that Sansa’s hair reflects the “people she’s learning from, or mimicking, or inspired by.”
“Inspired by”, eek.
Plus, diehard fans also noticed the sign:
Is Sansa the next badass GOT villain? Only time – and the next six episodes – will tell.
