Back in February Taylor Swift dashed fans dreams when she declared she wouldn’t be doing any live shows in 2017.
“As far as I know I’m only doing one show in 2017, and as far as I know, this is that show,” she told the crowd at the Super Saturday Concert in Houston.
“So what I’m trying to tell you is, by coming here tonight, you’re essentially attending 100 percent of my tour dates for the year, so thank you!”
But Ed Sheeran just gave those fans a glimmer of hope by spilling the beans on when his good pal is planning on releasing her next album.
“I think this year is going to be the high point. I have a feeling about it. Seventeen is my lucky number, and everyone I was scared of releasing of albums around me released them all last year—people like Beyoncé and The Weekend and Bruno Mars,” Ed, who released his album, Divide, this week, told BBC.
“Taylor [Swift] isn’t going to be releasing until probably the end of this year—Christmas is the smartest time to release because that’s when everyone buys records.”
Tay hasn’t released an album since her Grammy-winning 1989 dropped in October 2014 – although she did release Fifty Shades Darker duet ‘I Don’t Wanna Live Forever’ last December with Zayn Malik.
“So I’ve got a full year of just all Ed, all the time,” he joked.
Something tells us you’ll be fine in your own right, Ed.
