Drew Barrymore Is Getting Her Own Daytime Talk Show

“As I continue to practice interviewing others, I couldn’t help but look back at myself at age 7 in the hot seat on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson! Wow! It was 1982!” Barrymore captioned her Instagram post featuring the promo video for Here’s Drew! The Drew Barrymore Show.

The nostalgic interview shows a present-day Barrymore bonding with her past self over their scream-inducing excitement for the upcoming show, but she isn’t the only Barrymore who shared in the celebratory moment.

“PS…shooting this clip was so fun and a little emotional as my own 7 year old daughter Olive sat in as my 7 year old self. So, I am actually speaking to her too,” she added. “I cannot wait to share this show with you. It is so personal to me and I’m grateful and proud of the journey it took us all to get this made!”

As we all eagerly await the premiere of Here’s Drew! The Drew Barrymore Show on September 14,  enjoy the adorable interview below:

Update 11/10/2019: It’s official. Drew Barrymore is getting her own talk show, and it’s coming in 2020.

“It is beyond my wildest dreams to have this opportunity for a daily talk show,” Drew mentioned in a statement. “I’m truly thrilled and honoured to be creating this show with CBS.”

CBS are equally excited; Steve LoCascio, Chief Operating and Financial Officer of CBS Global Distribution Group said, “Drew is a huge star and a breath of fresh air – her show will energise any station’s lineup. We’re looking forward to working with Peter Dunn [president of CBS Television Stations] and the CBS Television Stations group to launch this premium show in fall 2020.”

This isn’t the first time Drew has tried to get her own talk show off the ground. She circled a talk show deal with Warner Bros.’ Telepictures in 2016, but the pilot received a lukewarm response and never made it off the ground.

Drew has been keeping plenty busy since then – she has her own beauty brand Flower Beauty and homewares range Flower Home, and she’s super active on social media, taking an open and unedited approach to sharing her life with her followers.

She’s everywhere right now.

Drew has also had a couple of other TV appearances of late, including her role as a judge on the reality talent competition The World’s Best alongside RuPaul and Faith Hill, and her starring role in Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet, which has just been cancelled following its third season.
