When Chrissy Teigen announced her second pregnancy on Instagram earlier this month, she did it in true Teigen style – posting a cute video of her daughter Luna pointing at her stomach and saying, “baby.” The caption read: “It’s John’s!”
The model, TV host, cookbook author and wife of singer John Legend has built her reputation and career on being real and relatable. After Luna was born last year, Teigen, 31, was lauded for speaking openly about her struggle with postpartum depression (PPD) and her anxiety diagnosis.
“Maybe I should be scared [of having PPD again], but I don’t know,” Teigen admits, in the January issue of marie claire. “It couldn’t be any worse than it was, could it? Every step I take feels a little shaky. It’s such a weird feeling that you wouldn’t know unless you have really bad anxiety… You feel like everyone is looking at you.”
And for Teigen, who is regularly followed by the paparazzi, that is often the case. Prior to her recent pregnancy announcement, whenever Teigen was photographed carrying something in front of her belly, gossip sites speculated that she was expecting a boy.
Though they haven’t revealed the gender of their second child, Teigen and Legend have previously said it took multiple rounds of IVF to conceive Luna and admitted that they had chosen her gender. After Luna was born, Teigen said they had one viable male embryo left.
Whether it’s a boy or girl, we’re in for some adorable baby photos. Case and point: Luna’s first pigtails.
