When Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan announced their separation after meeting on the set of Step Up and spending almost nine years together, fans were devastated. Now, six months later, it looks like Tatum is ready to move on.
This morning, Us Weekly reported that Tatum is dating singer Jessie J and, according to the source, the famous pair has been dating for a couple of months.
Tatum has been spotted at two of Jessie J’s shows, including her Seattle one and Salt Lake City one on Monday. On Saturday, while she was in Seattle for her concert, the two were seen playing mini golf.
“Who knew a mini golf job could be so crazy. Tonight I had to watch one of my a——- ex professors make out with his fiancé, then my coworker cut his hand open and had to go to the hospital, and finally Jessie j and Channing Tatum came in to play a round,” a Twitter user tweeted.
A second source told Us the relationship is “new, casual and they’re having fun together” and a further source confirmed the couple to People.
While it’s unclear how the two met, at the MTV Movie Awards in 2015, Jessie J and Mark Wahlberg presented the Magic Mike actor with the award for Best Comedic Performance and the now couple briefly hugged on stage.
Despite Tatum staying quiet about his split with Dewan since his statement in April, Dewan told Women’s Health in July that she thinks the relationship ending was the best thing.
“It’s been a journey, and it’s been a transformation of myself — my needs and wants as a woman,” she said at the time. “I think everyone wants to hold on to what’s in front of them, but when you open your mind, saying, ‘I want what’s best for myself and my daughter,’ you have to be OK with however that looks.”
She added: “It’s OK for a relationship to change into a new form that is actually better for both people involved, and I think that’s maybe what shocked everyone so much — that it can be a positive thing. That was ultimately what happened with us.”
