“This is the story of the people who gave their all to help native animals to ensure the very survival of the species,” Koala Rescue’s trailer previews.
Wildlife rescuers’ efforts have been crucial to the survival of Australia’s iconic koala species whose numbers have taken a huge hit during the fires.
Well over one billion animals are predicted to have been killed during Australia’s 2019/2020 bushfires and among this number, tens of thousands of koalas are believed to have perished.

Koala Rescue focuses on the key fire fronts where koalas were affected including Kangaroo Island, the Snowy Mountains, the Blue Mountains and Port Macquarie.
The show is set to profile the courage and determination of Australia’s heroic wildlife rescuers and carers showing how they have rescued, treated and rehabilitated surviving koalas.
