The Stars Came Out To Play At Chanel’s Opulent ‘100 Years Of Celebrity’ Dinner

The luxury house celebrated one century of its iconic fragrance, N°5

In a trick of luck, Chanel hosted what was undoubtedly the biggest and most glamorous party Australia has seen since the start of the pandemic – right before they weren’t allowed to.

On Wednesday night, the luxury house celebrated the 100th birthday of the iconic N°5 perfume with a dinner party that would make Mademoiselle Chanel proud. Held at the Parisian-inspired Felix Bistro & Brasserie, a who’s who of fashion and culture congregated in the name of honouring the pioneering fragrance which Gabrielle Chanel referred to as “a woman’s fragrance that smells like a woman”.

A-listers Rita Ora and Isla Fisher rubbed shoulders with Lara and Sam Worthington, young actresses such as Olivia DeJonge, Bebe Orleans Bettencourt and Lily Sullivan, as well as models Georgia Fowler and Victoria Lee. They were all clad in Chanel (we’re particularly partial to Isla’s opulent black jacket from the Chanel Resort 2021 show) and enjoyed signature cocktails inspired by the notes of N°5 with classic french fare.

Genesis Owusu gave a surprise performance that made the walls reverberate and a lavish tower of N°5 perfume bottles showered the room in a warm glow. There was even an after party (remember those??) which allegedly went until 3am.

New South Wales might have been plunged into a new round of restrictions after a new community case of COVID, but at least for one night we could enjoy the era of decadent and debaucherous parties once again. Until next time!
