As the impact of the coronavirus pandemic continues to be felt by vulnerable communities across the globe, celebrities are using this time at home to think creatively about ways they can give back. Earlier this week, your favourite stars in music, entertainment and sport began posting about the All In Challenge, an initiative that auctions off celebrity experiences to help support those facing food insecurity due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Created by American sports retailer Fanatics, the challenge aims to become “the world’s largest digital fundraiser in history,” having already raised more than $7 million USD towards that goal. All proceeds will be donated towards non-profit organisations including Feeding America, Meals On Wheels, World Central Kitchen and No Kid Hungry.
So, what’s exactly on offer? If you’ve always dreamed of staring side-by-side in a film with heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio, you finally have a chance. The co-founder of charity America’s Food Fund is auctioning off a walk-on role in his upcoming Martin Scorsese movie, which also happens to feature Robert De Niro.
If you spent most (if not all) of the early 2000s watching the characters in Friends navigate the weird and wonderful world that is adulthood, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Mathew Perry and David Schwimmer are inviting one fan the opportunity to attend the taping of the reunion special and have coffee with the cast on the Central Perk set!
Justin Bieber has pledged to serenade a lucky winner with an at-home rendition of his hit song, “One Less Lonely Girl”, Drake is offering up a trip on his private jet, Air Drake, plus tickets to a future concert, and talk show hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Ellen DeGeneres are offering gigs on upcoming episodes of their shows. And that’s just the beginning.
Thanks to the All In Challenge, none of these scenarios are beyond the realm of possibility anymore. Below, we’ve rounded up videos from our favourite celebrities who are supporting the initiative.
