While the US celebrated Father’s Day over the weekend, the holiday was overshadowed by the country’s devastating immigration crisis which has seen almost 2000 children, some less than four years old, separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border.
As global tension mounts over US President Donald Trump’s controversial “zero tolerance” immigration policy, celebrities are taking to social media to condemn the crisis and demand it be changed.
Celebrities are using their platforms to demand action and share details of the crisis to ensure people are informed on what exactly is going on and what action people can take to fight back against these inhumane laws.
this little girl is the same age as my daughter. luna is the happiest thing. the funniest girl. and she is absolutely terrified to look around and realize she is too far away from us, even for seconds. the fear she would feel here fills me with rage and sadness. pic.twitter.com/riSV8ADRFe

I don’t care what your politics are, we can’t be a country that separates children from their parents. Do something about this, here. https://t.co/0ozLcxxmxC

Children must be able to play, study and grow in a peaceful environment. Woe to anyone who stifles their joyful impulse to hope!
