We can’t remember the last time we jumped up out of bed with such enthusiasm on a Saturday morning but news of a long-awaited Friends reunion was well worth skipping the snooze button.

It turns out, we weren’t the only ones double-tapping every announcement post on Instagram either as the celebrity world also rejoiced.

When Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry collectively shared the news (read: broke the Internet), fellow A-listers couldn’t contain their excitement.

Kate Hudson spoke on behalf of Friends fans across the globe, as she commented on Aniston’s announcement post: “I feel like the whole world just had a collective orgasm.”

Selena Gomez, a long friend of Aniston’s, added: “NO ONE TALK TO ME. I’M NOT OK.”

It just so happens that Gwyneth Paltrow is also a firm fan of the US sitcom (and caps lock).

“NO F’IN WAYYYYY,” the Goop founder commented.

Over on Cox‘s Instagram post, celebrity reactions are also in full swing.

Most notably, Reese Witherspoon, who famously played Rachel Green’s sister Jill Green in the year 2000, commented.

“WHAT????!!! THIS IS THE GREATEST NEWS EVER!!” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Ashley Benson quoted Janice with a simple-but-effective: “OH MY GOD”.

The news comes 15 years after the small screen’s most beloved friends left our screens for good (bar our hungover rerun-after-rerun weekend sessions, of course).

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the famous cast will appear alongside show creators, David Crane and Marta Kauffman, for an unscripted special with HBO Max.

The highly-anticipated episode, set to be filmed at the Warner Bros. Studio lot in California (where the show was originally shot) will mark the first time all six members have been at a public event together since 2004.

Aniston teased the possibility of a reunion back in October 2019 when she shared a record-breaking photograph of the famous six on Instagram alongside the caption: “And now we’re Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM”.

Apologies in advance but, could we BE any more excited?
