Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas made the Cannes red carpet a family affair, by bringing along their 20-year-old daughter, Carys Zeta Douglas for the occasion.
Cannes Film Festival famously attracts celebrities from all over the world to walk the red carpet in stunning ensembles — but arguably no appearance has been more iconic thus far than the Zeta-Jones-Douglas clan.
Carys, an aspiring musician, looked strikingly similar to her actress mother, in a semi-sheer white gown by Elie Saab, a simple up-do, and elegant diamond earrings.
Her mum, on the other hand, 53, wore a red gown with an asymmetric cape, also by Elie Saab, paired with matching earrings, and her long, dark hair in loose waves.
The mother-daughter duo were in attendance to watch Michael receive an honorary Palme d’Or award in celebration of his stellar acting career. A documentary about his life, Michael Douglas: The Prodigal Son, will also air during the festival.
Catherine and Michael met at the Cannes Film Festival in 1998, and were married just two years later. They share a son, Dylan, who is also an actor.
Years after marrying, in 2016, Michael shared the pick-up line he had used to seduce his now-wife in an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show.
“I said to her after about half an hour [meeting], ‘You know, I’m going to be the father of your children,’” he admitted.
“You know, I’ve heard a lot about you and I’ve seen a lot about you, and I think it’s time I say goodnight,” Catherine apparently replied.
