Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher have started 2019 in the best way possible – welcoming their newest addition to the family. The singer and former professional hockey player welcomed a baby boy, Jacob Bryan Fisher, on Jan. 21.
The couple shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday afternoon, writing that their family “couldn’t be happier for God to trust them with taking care of this little miracle!” She added, “Our hearts are full, our eyes are tired and our lives are forever changed. Life is good…”

Underwood and Fisher already have a 3-year-old son named Isaiah Michael Fisher.
Despite being pregnant, Underwood remained working full-time up until Jacob’s arrival. The country singer even hosted the Country Music Awards last year, baby bump and all.
“You just make room and you learn how important that family time is, and to be able to spend time and carve out some of that and maybe get to go on vacation and maybe get to go on a cruise, that stuff is so important to, like I said, make time for family,” she told People last April of finding balance. “That’s what it’s all about.”
Early last year, Underwood revealed she had suffered three miscarriages between 2017 and 2018. During an emotional interview with CBS Sunday Morning in September, she opened up about her challenging fertility struggles. Explaining her reaction to the heartbreak, the “blessed” star said, “My son, Isaiah, is the sweetest thing. And he’s the best thing in the world. And I’m like, ‘If we can never have any other kids, that’s okay, because he’s amazing’.”
“And I have this amazing life,” Underwood continued. “Like, really, what can I complain about? I can’t. I have an incredible husband, incredible friends, an incredible job, an incredible kid. Can I be mad? No.”
Congratulations to the new family of four!
