While we might hold a little resentment for the Big Little Lies cast not releasing any details on a possible season three, they continue to remind us exactly why we fell in love with the Monterey Five in the first place.

Working with Frontline Foods to support female-owned restaurants, Reese Witherspoon, Zoë Kravitz, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, and Shailene Woodley, chose five cities in which to help make and deliver meals to essential hospital and health care workers during the pandemic.

“The Monterey Five are back… and this time for a great cause!” Witherspoon shared to Instagram. “The #BigLittleLies cast teamed up with @FrontlineFoods to sponsor meals for medical heroes in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Nashville, New Orleans, and New York City who are working tirelessly to keep us safe and healthy. This amazing cause not only supports frontline workers, but also supports local restaurants!”

Dern added, “All of the restaurants we partnered with are women-owned small businesses or have a female chef! The cities we sponsored are very close to our hearts and the communities have been hit hard.”

While the cast is still very much united, no news has been shared if the Five will return for another season of the hit HBO series.

In November 2019, Kidman told Deadline, “The muse is Liane, and she will construct something, so it’s left there. And I like how that is, that it’s David and Liane. It’s David’s show. David E. Kelley constructed this show with Liane Moriarty. They built it from the ground up, and it’s their show, and we’ll see if they’re ignited into building a life for these women, and which way they would go next.”

She continued, “If there is a third one, all of it will come from the writers, and that’s amazing. Liane is deeply talented. David is deeply talented, and the combination of them is extraordinary.”

While at the Golden Globes, Laura Dern couldn’t help but hint about returning her character, Renata. “Well when Reese [Witherspoon] and Nicole [Kidman] get back here you ask them, but I can never say no to Renata, and she is a dream come true to play so it’s impossible to not want to play her more and be with truly my best friends.”

Fingers crossed!
