No matter how long we spend preparing for the spooky season, our Halloween costume never fails to involve some half-hearted faux blood, glittery devil horns picked up from the local supermarket or last year’s cat ears.
But there’s still time to pull together a killer ensemble and we’re looking to the A-list set for inspiration.

The big day may not have even arrived yet but Hollywood’s buzziest names donned their most social media-worthy clobber for the annual Casamigos party hosted by Rande Gerber and George Clooney.
Never failing to boast a starry guest list, a whole host of celebrities descended upon Los Angeles for the bash and we’ve already added a handful of costumes to our Halloween mood board.
Jessica Biel made us hide our makeshift bed-sheets-turned-ghost get-up in the back of the wardrobe, as she graced the dance floor dressed as Justin Timberlake circa NSYNC. Yep, the actress donned a metallic boiler suit complete with a curly wig while her husband took on the role of a giant microphone.
In another spotlight-stealing look, actress Lisa Rinna turned up to the event in that Jennifer Lopez Versace dress – a costume idea sure to prove a crowd-pleaser.

Elsewhere in the celebrity sphere, Kylie Jenner was upstaged by her one-year-old daughter Stormi who recreated the make-up mogul’s Met Gala 2019 moment in a miniature version of the feathered dress she wore for the ‘Camp: Notes on Fashion’ extravaganza.
So without further ado, scroll for the Hollywood set’s take on Halloween dress so far this year from Demi Lovato’s crown-worthy take on Marie Antoinette to Halsey and Evan Peters’ interpretation of Sonny and Cher.
Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake
Jessica Biel teased husband Justin Timberlake at the annual Casamigos Halloween bash by paying sartorial tribute to the singer’s NYSNC days in a metallic boiler suit and matching ’90s sunnies.
Of course, a curly wig was the only way to accessorise the ensemble. According to reports, the power couple were joined by four other friends also dressed as fellow bandmates. Meanwhile, Timberlake looked glum dressed as a giant microphone.
Elizabeth Hurley
Only Elizabeth Hurley could look this good at a fancy dress bash. The model channelled Uma Thurman’s legendary role as ‘The Bride’ in Kill Bill courtesy of a plunging jumpsuit and wig.
Heidi Klum
It’s not Halloween until Heidi Klum says it is and the model has already teased fans with a number of spooky ensembles in the run-up to the big day (and her legendary party of course). The 46-year-old took to Instagram to share a photograph of her and husband Tom Kaulitz slathered in neon glitter. Only Klum would choose to the theme of fireworks, huh?
Although this isn’t her final look, as the mother-of-four gave a sneak preview of this year’s costume on social media back in August (nothing like starting early, huh?). In the clip, she can be seen trying to keep still in a crouched position wearing nothing but her underwear and a pair of heels.
Meanwhile, a technician appears to be capturing Klum’s measurements with a handheld optical scanner – a sure-fire sign that we can expect some creative prosthetics this spooky season.
Demi Lovato
Not one to stick to her sartorial comfort zone when October rolls around, Demi Lovato has already inspired our Halloween costume in not one but two looks.
In the first snap, the songstress poses as Marie Antoinette in a towering blonde wispy wig, heavily-powered make-up and a corseted frock fit for an 18th century Queen – an impressive ensemble courtesy of glam squad members Etienne Ortega and Paul Norton.
The second look sees Lovato dressed as a clown complete with a pom pom-emblazoned frock, red nose and ginger buns atop her head.
Halsey
Confirming her relationship with Evan Peters in the most millennial way possible, Halsey posted two images of the new couple in matching Halloween get-ups at her Los Angeles fancy dress bash.
In the first, the singer can be seen arm-in-arm with the silver screen star dressed as Marilyn Manson with mismatched contact lenses, fiery red waves and a latex leotard.
In the following image, the singer can be seen dressed as Cher (Peters took on the role of Sonny) at the starry American Horror Story 100th Episode Celebration in California. Putting our last-minute cat ears of Halloween 2018 to shame, the couple dressed as the ’70s power couple in matching polka dot looks set to steal the best-dressed list this year.
Don’t tell Kim Kardashian…
Kylie Jenner
Kickstarting the Halloween celebrations early, the 22-year-old teamed up with friend Stassie Karanikolaou to recreate Madonna and Britney Spear’s now-iconic kiss at the 2003 VMAs. Taking on the role of Madonna, Jenner wore a blonde wig in a low bun with an all-black outfit and lick of red lipstick.
Jenner later shared a clip of the pair dancing to like a ‘Like A Virgin’ before they even went so far as to share a peck in reference to the famous pop culture moment.
Stormi Webster
Though it was Jenner’s one-year-old daughter, Stormi, who really stole the spotlight. Setting the Internet alight, the make-up extraordinaire shared two photographs and a video of the tot dressed as – you guessed it – her mother.
Recreating the reality television star’s Met Gala 2019 moment, her daughter is seen chuckling in a plume-sleeved gown which included a lavender-hued wig and co-ordinating handbag. All together now: awww.
Lisa Rinna
During Milan Fashion Week, Jennifer Lopez crashed our Instagram feed by recreating her world-famous Versace moment – a grand 19 years after she first wore it to the Grammy Awards.
So it was only a matter of time until a fellow celebrity gave the history-making ensemble a go, as actress Lisa Rinna shared a video of herself in the palm-print dress on Instagram alongside the caption: “Jenny from the block”.
Ashley Graham
We may as well call it quits this season, as Ashley Graham just won Halloween courtesy of a Jessica Rabbit get-up. The mother-to-be posed for a series of Instagram snaps alongside husband, Justin Ervin, who took on the role of Macho Man.
Making a joke of their couple costumes, the model captioned the post: “Macho Man knocked up Jessica Rabbit for Halloween”.
Nina Dobrev
The Vampire Diaries actress eschewed traditional devil horns in favour of a more creative costume, as she paid tribute to singer Billie Eilish at the starry Casmigos party.
Decked in one of the 17-year-old’s most famous looks, Dobrev stepped out in a Louis Vuitton jumper and neon green roots. In reference to one of her hit songs, the actress simply captioned the post: “I’m the bad guy”.
Cindy Crawford
As the host of Halloween’s most talked about A-list bash (sorry, Klum), Cindy Crawford has to pull together a headline-worthy ensemble and that she did.
For the 2019 event, the model embraced all things ’70s in a permed wig, tinted sunnies and sequinned jumpsuit.
Tracee Ellis Ross
The actress sought inspiration from the silver screen this season dressed as Lupita Nyong’o’s character Red from 2019 thriller Us.
Geri Halliwell
The former Spice Girl may have just single-handedly won Halloween in an uncanny tribute to Peaky Blinders dressed as lead character Thomas Shelby – horse and all.
Kate Beckinsale
Fans threw applause emojis galore at the actress’ Halloween snap, as she channelled Audrey Hepburn’s most famous role in Breakfast At Tiffany’s.
Meanwhile, her friend joined her in the weekly shop dressed as Elton John.
Ciara and Russell Wilson
Stop what you’re doing, Ciara and Russell Wilson were just crowned the King and Queen of Halloween after paying homage to Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s now-iconic moment in their Louvre music video.
If you can steer your eyes away from their on-point suiting for one moment, you’ll also notice that the Duchess of Sussex’s portrait in the background has been replaced with a painting of Barack and Michelle Obama.
